Sky Notes: Astro insights for the week of June 9, 2025

Seeking deeper meaning: Venus in Taurus, Jupiter in Cancer, the Full Moon in Sagittarius, and a Mars Uranus square

Hey everyone,

I hope you’re all doing well this week. Please bare with me as I try to find consistency in the weekly output of this newsletter. It’s a format I still plan to stick to and I’m learning how to manage my time better and work through the blockages that arise when I know I need to sit down and write.

For me, this has been part of the essence of Saturn in Aries — establishing routine, taking control of my time, and pushing through resistance. Wherever Saturn’s transit shows up in your natal chart is where you may feel the most resistance in your attempts to make something real and concrete in this world. The Aries of it all has us fighting and persevering to make it happen. Resistance or avoidance will be painful, but the discomfort is our teacher.

In moments where I find myself procrastinating and not taking the action I need to be, the anxiety experienced in my body becomes very potent. This Saturn transit at the beginning of Aries is opposing my Moon in my own chart. This has been manifesting in greater anxiety and emotional turbulence felt in the body and it’s becoming an almost daily occurrence for me. However, I know the source of it and over the course of my life I have learned that movement and exercise is essential to the wellbeing of my mind, body, and spirit. So now, I’m taking what I’ve learned throughout life and applying it to this moment. I’m establishing a new exercise and movement routine that aides in getting this energy out of my body — and it’s working well.

I’m providing this personal example to show that when you have an awareness of the energies beyond your control, you can navigate them in a much more conscious and controlled way. This is how I use astrology in my own life, not as a predictive tool, but as a system that I can rely on to live with more intention.

Personal update: I finished my first six-month course with Sher Institute of Astrology & Metaphysics! Last week, we began the second session where we’ll be diving deeper into astrological concepts, exploring metaphysics and philosophy, and practicing consultations.

I have begun doing natal chart readings for my close friends and I’m now offering free or donation-based readings for friends and family. If you’re interested, simply reply to this email with your birthday, exact time of birth, and the location. I would greatly appreciate your participation in this journey!

This week, we embark on a new voyage of learning about what we need to feel safe, secure, and nurtured in our physical and emotional bodies, home life, and family dynamics. There’s an emphasis on personal and collective growth by exploring new territories of the mind as well as adventures out in the world. By the weekend, something familiar and structured in our lives is due for a shift in perspective, whether that’s through intuitive insight or a fast-moving change of events.

Cosmically, Jupiter entered Cancer on Monday, a Full Moon in Sagittarius takes place on Wednesday, and Mars will make a square with Uranus on Saturday. Also, Venus entered Taurus at the end of last week.

Venus in Taurus graces us with beauty and sweetness

Sometimes we need to be reminded of the simple pleasures of life, and the next month will bring us these helpful moments. Venus, the goddess of love, connection, and beauty, enjoys being in Taurus, the sign of earthly and material pleasures. But Taurus isn’t just about being grounded in our comforts, it asks us to see beyond the material and its inherent meaning in our lives. We tend to become so steeped in material reality that we forget to be grateful for our routine pleasures.

Venus in Taurus not only wants us to take this time to honor things like nature, art, music, and food, but it asks us to have reverence for these offerings and to see them as gifts not to be taken for granted. This past weekend, I went for a hike in a forest preserve outside of Chicago as a much needed spiritual reset. My senses were enriched by the environment and I even took a moment to pause and speak out loud to an old tree. We are not just in relationship to each other as humans, but with nature as well. So why not talk to it and share our feelings and express gratitude? Considering that we’re all from the same source of energy, are we really all that separate? I encourage you to form deeper relationships to these material values you hold.

Jupiter in Cancer will teach us new ways to provide and receive care

The last year of Jupiter in Gemini brought us opportunities to perceive life in new ways through communication and information gathering. Now it’s time to relax the mind a bit and take a break from information overload. It’s essential now to tune into your needs and the needs of your loved ones. For some of us, comfort and safety may not come easily, or perhaps our methods are a bit outdated. Allow yourself to fearlessly explore something new during the next year and you’ll most likely be pleasantly surprised or rewarded. Allowing is the key word here. Be more open so that you can grow and hold onto the faith that you’ll be better off for it.

Cancer also has a protective quality to it, like a mother bear aggressively protecting her cubs. Where can you soften a bit? Do you tend to put up a tough exterior to conceal your emotions? Men who over-exert their strength are typically the biggest babies just below the surface. Embrace your inner big baby and have a good cry. Trust the people that make you feel safe and open up to them — it will profoundly change your life.

The Full Moon in Sagittarius brings and adventurousness of spirit

Wednesday’s Full Moon energizes us to seek out a greater meaning in life through the knowledge we’ve gained from our experiences. We often find meaning in what we do by sharing it with others or applying shared concepts to it. Sagittarius is an excitable fire sign that thrives on spreading knowledge and ideas, often through outlets such as spirituality, philosophy, higher learning, governing, and publishing to name a few. If Aries is the spark and Leo is the flame, then Sagittarius can be seen as the wildfire. It’s where ideas spread and take hold throughout society.

With the Full Moon’s position in the sky forming a square to the North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo, this can be seen as a helpful expanse into helping us embrace all that connects us as one. What are our needs in community and in society and how can our wisdom unite us?

Mars forming a square to Uranus brings us an aggressive shift in perspective

The weekend brings an unexpected pivot in the way that we do things. I think this is one of those transits that many astrologers are going to fixate on the negative potential outcomes. Societally, yes, this may be the case. It can be an intense inflection point brought on by high drama and bravado. The news cycle will most likely be hard to keep our eyes off of.

But individually, this can be a highly concentrated moment that breaks a cycle that you may or may not be consciously aware of. Mars is in Leo and Uranus is in Taurus, both fixed signs that represent consistency in vitality and grounding. To work with this transit, ponder the following question:

Creativity is not just reserved for artists. Each of us are the creators of our own life and our total life experience can be seen as one great art project that we constantly shape and mold. But things often derail us and pull our focus away and we can either let external forces control our lives, or we can become better at accepting what is and remain true to our selves and our drive.

We know that change is inevitable, yet we always struggle to adapt to it. Although uncomfortable, it can reveal the exact insights we need. Your job is to seek out the deeper meaning behind your experience and embrace the transformation meant for you.
